<기분전환>은 홍콩에 이민자들의 수가 급격히 늘었었던 1990년도에 제작되었다.
*1989년에는 천안문이 탄압 받는 사건이 있었음 이 해는 현재까지도 계속되는 긴장이 홍콩에 존속했었던 때로 현대적인 도시가 새롭게 건축된 날이라 할 수 있다. 1960년, 빅토리아 하버에서 열렸던 홍콩정부가 주최한 수영대회는 난해한 상징들과 냉소적인 유머로 가득 차 있었다.
This video was produced in 1990 after the 1989 Tiananmen Crackdown during the immigration flush in Hong Kong. It is a reconstruction of this modern city in its present-continuous tense/tension. The Victoria Harbor swimming contest scenes which were made in the 1960’s by the Hong Kong Government are filled with absurd metaphors and black humor.
