TITLE(K) 밤의 눈 TITLE(E) The Very Eye of Night DIRECTOR 마야데렌 Maya Deren ADDITION 1952–59 / 15 min / B&W / silent CATEGORY 작가기획전 상영 2009 LINK SYNOPSIS 마야데렌이 이른 죽음을 맞기 직전에 완성한 유작. 별자리에 관한 고대의 신화를 재현하며 ‘메트로폴리탄 오페라 발레 스쿨’의 무용수들이 밤하늘에 아름답고 환상적인 이야기를 펼쳐 놓는다. ‘밤의 눈’의 음악은 그녀의 세 번째 남편인 테이지 이토(Teiji Ito)가 작곡한 것으로 마치 우리에게 꿈을 꾸는 듯한 최면을 거는 듯하다.   -   In the final film Deren completed before her untimely death, the night sky comes to life as dancers from the Metropolitan Opera Ballet School reenact the ancient dramas of constellation mythology. The Very Eye of Night features a mesmerizing soundtrack by Japanese composer Teiji Ito, the director’s third husband.
